March 2010
Our “Pet of the Month” for March is 5-year-old Basset Hound “Pumpkin” Ruehl. “Pumpkin” has been a “frequent flyer” of the Animal Clinic since she was wee puppy. As a youngster, “Pumpkin” developed a dangerous habit of picking up and eating rocks. Fortunately, when her owner Michael discovered this, she was rushed to the Animal Clinic for emergency treatment. “Pumpkin” had to undergo exploratory surgery TWICE to have several rocks removed from her stomach! Now that “Pumpkin” is an adult, we are all relieved that she has outgrown her old tricks. She’s much wiser now and has since decided that dog food is the only way to go. Despite being a frequent surgical patient, “Pumpkin” still jumps all over us when she comes to visit. Most of all “Pumpkin” is a sweet wrinkly hound dog with big beautiful eyes, and we applaud her tenacity and good nature. Congratulations “Ms. March”.
