July 2010
Our “Pet of the Month” for July is a 12-year-old black Labrador named “Pepper” Leffler. Recently, Pepper proved that you are never too old to get into a little bit of mischief after ingesting some grapes at home. She soon became ill and had to take a trip to the emergency hospital for treatment. Many people are unaware of the fact that something seemingly harmless like a handful of grapes or raisins can actually be deadly for your pet! Thankfully, Peppers owners recognized that she wasn’t feeling well and quickly got her the proper treatment. We are pleased to report that she is back to living out her senior days with her family (and staying away from that grapevine!) Thanks for the lesson in food safety Pepper, and Congrats on being ACTRI’s “Pet of the Month”.
